Dear Families,
Welcome to our Week 3 Newsletter.
Reconciliation Week
Week 5 is Reconciliation Week. Reconciliation Australia’s theme for 2025 is 'Bridging Now to Next'. Bridging Now to Next calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.
At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We all have a role to play when it comes to Reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and futures.
Facilities
The Dental Clinic has now been removed and we are beginning the process of landscaping. We are looking to have a path, new soil and some wonderful bush tucker plants growing shortly.
The building 3 upgrade is pushing ahead quickly, with new flooring, cabinets installed and finishing off the painting. There is still plenty to do but we expect the building to be accessible at the end of term 2. The new furniture that we have purchased will be delivered in the holidays. We expect the lift to take a little longer before we can access it.
Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School has also been identified as a recipient of the inaugural SANFL School Goal Post Program, where we will receive new goal posts. We are currently waiting on delivery of the posts and an installation date.
Pupil Free Day
A reminder that our next Pupil Free day is Friday 6th June. Staff will be at school reviewing our school Behaviour Management Policy.
Please note that our OSHC service will be open if enough numbers are reached on the Pupil Free Day. Please contact OSHC if you are interested in making a booking.
Mid-Year Reporting
This term our reports will be coming home on Thursday 3rd July.
Parent Group Report
In late Term 1 and early Term 2, the Parent Group have been busy organising the annual Mother's Day Stall. This year we held the stall last Thursday and Friday, with many students supporting it. Gifts ranged from 50c - $10, with a huge range of affordable presents on offer.
Through the hard work of our Parent Group and Young Leaders we managed to raise approximately $900. A big thank you to all who helped out.
Election Day BBQ
Thank you to Staff, Governing Council members and the families who helped support the Election Day BBQ. A big thank you to Leah who supervised during the day. We had lots of chats with current and past families throughout the day.
The BBQ raised approximately $800.
Reception Enrolments
We are looking forward to starting our transition visits for our Mid-Year Reception enrolments in the next few weeks. We have sent home letters to our new families with details about the visits.
2026 Reception Enrolments
A reminder for all families who have siblings or know of families starting school in reception in 2026, a registration of interest form is required to be completed and returned to the front office by the end of Term 2. Please see Jeanette or Kerry in the front office for more details and forms.
Kind regards,
Bob
STUDENT FREE DAY
Friday 6th June
OSCH bookings available- minimum numbers required

On Tuesday the 6th of May, a group of over 30 students took part in the SAPSASA Cross Country event at Point Malcolm Reserve. It was a great day with lots of determination, team spirit and excellent behaviour on display.
Many of our students achieved personal bests, showcasing their hard work and dedication to their training.
A special congratulations goes to Otis, who placed 3rd in the Division 2 Under 11’s – a great result!
Also, a big congratulations to the Under 11 Division 1 boys, where Kase took out 1st place, Zohdi placed 4th, and Gray finished 6th. All three boys have qualified to compete at Oakbank – a fantastic accomplishment!
Well done to all students who participated. You have made our school proud!
Rooms 15 and 16 DreamBig Excursion
On Thursday 8th May, Room 15 and Room 16 travelled by train to the city to join in with the 30th year of the DreamBig Festival. We saw the play 'Imagine' based on the book by Alison Lester. We all had so much fun. The play taught us how to use our imagination and that reading is always fun.

Students and staff were invited to wear their favourite footy colours on Friday 9th May to celebrate the Showdown.

Families online survey of OSHC service
Dear OSHC Families,
We invite you to provide brief feedback on the operations of the OSHC service via this family survey link. It should take no longer than a few minutes.
The feedback will be collated by the department and a summary provided to the school principal and governing council.
We thank you for your input which will provide an opportunity for the OSHC provider to implement quality improvements in the service.
Please speak to Bob Bowden (Principal) at the school if you have any concerns or issues.
The survey due date is 31st May 2025.
Families can scan the QR code to complete the survey
